Toyo Ito

Background & practice

Ito worked with Kiyonori Kikutake before founding Urban Robot in 1971, later renamed Toyo Ito & Associates. His career extends from experimental houses to libraries and theatres, and to collective rebuilding initiatives after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
