Background & practice

Ban studied at SCI-Arc and Cooper Union before building a practice spanning museums, workplaces and emergency shelter. His work with displaced communities brought architectural attention to the dignity and practical needs of temporary accommodation.

Paper tubes, timber and reusable components are tested as real structural systems. Availability, transport, assembly and comfort inform the design alongside form.
