Suzhou Taohuayuan

The project

Suzhou Taohuayuan reinterprets traditional lanes, waterside passages and garden courtyards as a contemporary residential neighbourhood. Homes are organised around private courts, with sheltered transitional spaces linking interiors and gardens. Moon gates, perforated screens and porches create depth and changing views through a sequence of intimate outdoor rooms.
