Hengdian Hotel

The project

Set between low hills and woodland, the Hengdian Hotel concept draws on the courtyard organisation of the region’s historic Luzhai residences. Slender volumes let the landscape enter between buildings, while inner courts create a more inward-looking character. Framed views of the hills make the relationship between architecture and woodland central to the proposal.
