Aranya Canteen No. 11

The project

A community dining room in Aranya’s Yuzui neighbourhood becomes an indoor park. Timber overhead, daylight from skylights and planting soften the scale of the hall, while grey-green columns establish a clear spatial rhythm. Warm brown brick and textured finishes give the interior a grounded, welcoming character suited to the cold coastal season. gad’s interior design considers the whole daily sequence of queuing, collecting food, sitting and talking.
