Background & practice

Pete Bossley studied at the University of Auckland's School of Architecture in the 1970s and established an early practice with fellow graduates. His projects grew from alterations of villas and bungalows to larger, more complex commissions, including Heatley House. NZIA's 2012 Gold Medal citation emphasises experimentation, drawing and the craft of architecture. It describes a practice intent on finding each project's particular possibilities rather than relying on one repeated solution.
