Where it fits
Find a set of model elements or an official how-to answer without losing the thread of an ongoing BIM task.
What goes in
A natural-language question or selection criteria applied to the current model.
What comes out
Guidance and model selections. Documentation limits selections to built-in properties and Floor Plan/3D workflows.
How to read the capability
The useful test is not whether an answer sounds fluent. Prepare a query with a known result—for example, a material and height condition—then compare the assistant’s selection with a saved schedule. Include deliberately unsupported custom properties to see whether failure is clear.
Limits to keep in view
It does not support custom properties for selection. A selected subset can still omit an important object, so counts and IDs need review. Product guidance or standards discussion does not replace project-specific professional judgment.
A practical evaluation checklist
Save a reference schedule and compare exact element IDs, not just the reported count.
Ask the same selection in plan and 3D; check its scope before applying any downstream edit.
